Today is June 12th. Though it was thirteen years ago that Karkat Vantas celebrated his sixth wriggling day, it is only today that Alternian solar sweeps once again synchronize with Earth years, making this the first time since he was given a name that Karkat’s wriggling day has fallen on 6/12. Happy 12th wriggling day, Karkat!

For anyone who doesn't want to watch the video, he used a list of things from Wikidata, pared it down to about 8000 things that most people would have heard of, and made a website where people voted for the best option in randomly selected pairs of things.
Pizza was voted the 9th best thing, making it the best food. Bees weren't in the top 10 best things, but they won 77% of matchups to be selected as the best creature, followed by emperor penguins and hedgehogs. Bisexuality didn't place in the top 10 either, but it won 73% of matchups compared to heterosexuality winning only 45%. (Orgasms were the highest ranked sexual thing, and were miraculously ranked at number 69.) I think the windmill is supposed to stand for electricity, which was the second place winner. And the winner of "best thing" was sleep.
haven’t gotten the new ui yet. am ok in principle with taking the stuff presently occupying valuable vertical real estate and moving it to the presently underutilized side panels but from screenshots this doesn’t seem to have been done especially well. oh well, hopefully they’ll iron out the most glaring issues in the next few days.
Watched a bit of Kung Fu, and it’s funny to compare it to Firefly, because these are both shows whose premise is (in part) “China meets the Old West” but somehow the one from 2002 has fewer (read: zero) Asian actors in the main cast than the one from 1972 that casts a white guy as the Chinese lead.
